People go to all kinds of lengths to protect their personal computers from pests like viruses, worms, and Trojans. But when it comes to their mobile phone, people seem to overlook the fact that it needs protection too. After all, all BlackBerries come with an Internet connection and so really, anyone that wanted to do your phone harm or just get into your important emails can do so if they have the hacking knowledge. So, how are you supposed to protect your BlackBerry? With Lookout Mobile Security - a great security app available for your BlackBerry.

Lookout Mobile Security doesn’t just protect your computer from viruses, but from malware and spyware too. It will always run in the background, so you can be sure that it’s hard at work no matter how much browsing you’re doing. You also don’t have to worry about contracting a virus on your phone simply because you forgot to turn this important app on. And every time you install a new app, it will scan that for you too to make sure that it’s completely safe for your phone. And while these may seem like the usual standard features you’d get with desktop virus software, there’s tons more that this app has to offer.

The app will track down your phone should it ever become lost or stolen and, if it’s lost nearby, you can activate an alarm that will tell you exactly where it is. If you lose your phone for good, you can completely wipe it clean so that no one else will be able to access your information. You can also access any information on your phone remotely, meaning that even if you don’t lose it but have just left it at school or at a friends’ house, you can still have access to all that information.

Lookout Mobile Security has tons of fab features that will keep your BlackBerry safe and protected at all times. Best of all, it’s completely free and you can download it here.

SnapTu for the BlackBerry

Published: May 20th, 2010 | Author: Kate Add Comment

I think everyone has heard by now about Rogers’ Social View phones. These phones bring you your friends’ Twitter, Facebook, and other social networking profiles all in one place so you don’t have to go searching around for them or download a zillion different apps just to keep in touch. But, was Rogers aware of the SnapTu app for the BlackBerry? Because it seems to do all the same things, except you don’t need to buy an expensive (albeit fancy) new phone. And in fact, the app is completely free.

I’m not fully aware of everything the new Rogers phone has to offer. But I’m guessing since they’re promoting the heck out of it, it must offer at least one additional feature that SnapTu doesn’t. But, at first glance of both, this app certainly does seem to have a lot of the same stuff. This app really is an all-in-one and Twitter and Facebook aren’t the only cool things it offers. With this app, you’ll also get ACCUWeather, RSS feeds, Guardian, Reuters, BBC, Picasa, Sudoku, and much, much more.

This app will give you everything you need so go ahead and download it here, then delete all of those useless apps that you no longer need. You know, like Facebook, Twitter, ACCUWeather, your RSS feeds…you get the idea.
