LinkedIn for BlackBerry is Now Available

LinkedIn has been working on their LinkedIn app for the BlackBerry for quite some time now and they have officially announced that it is now available, completely free, for your BlackBerry device! With social networking all the rage these days, LinkedIn is another wonderful site that allows you to keep in touch with your friends and business contacts, update your status, and just keep tuned in to those around you. LinkedIn is becoming such a popular networking site in fact, that it’s gain in popularity is starting to give sites like Facebook and Twitter a run for their money.

The app works just as it would if you were running the site on your computer or laptop. You can let people know what you’re doing, send messages, look for contacts, and do anything else that you would normally do while logged into LinkedIn. But because it’s an app, it goes one step further by directly working with your BlackBerry to integrate your contacts and calendar information. Those creative minds over at LinkedIn have definitely made sure that the wait has definitely been worth it for those of us that have been keeping our eye out for this one.

The app though, being very new, still has a few kinks to work out. The biggest one is that it seems to have a problem closing, meaning that once you download the LinkedIn app, it will always be running in the background, taking precious life away from your battery and possibly interfering with other apps. If you still want to give it a try, or just use LinkedIn often enough that having it always on isn’t a problem, you can download it here.
