Calorie Counter for BlackBerry

When you’re trying to lose weight keeping track of things like nutritional information, calorie counts, and fat counts can seem extremely overwhelming. And how are you supposed to focus on actually losing weight when you’re getting lost in numbers? With the Calorie Counter app for BlackBerry. This app will not only let you keep track of it all so you can see it at a glance, but it will also let you set goals for yourself and track your progress – two other very important elements when it comes to losing weight!

One of the coolest features of the Calorie Counter app is that it has a “Quick Pick” section. Here you can just flip through different food varieties and tap or click on it when it’s found. The app will then instantly bring up a quick sheet about that food item where it will list all of the nutritional information that’s most important to you. There’s also a food diary where you can write down your weight loss and eating habit goals, and jot down your success – so you can not only see where you’re going, but also how far you’ve come!

There’s also a separate diary for your activities, because eating right is just half the battle; you also need to incorporate some sort of exercise. The activity diary is a great place to write down any activity that helped you feel the burn and lose those calories such as biking, walking, or just going up and down the stairs while you do laundry! And to top it all off, there’s also a weight chart that helps you see different averages, as well as pinpoint exactly where you are, and if you’re in the range you need to be.

Stop being overwhelmed by silly things like nutritional information and use it to actually help you in your weight loss goal. There’s no easy way to lose weight. But downloading the app here is a great start to help make it just a little bit easier.

WordSearch App free for BlackBerry

If you love words, and love playing with them even more, then download WordSearch free for BlackBerry. This app does have a full version, which eliminates some of the ads you’ll have to deal with when playing the freebie, and will give you even more puzzles. Aside from that, the free version does provide plenty for word lovers and includes great graphics and fun play too.

The free WordSearch game includes 2,700 words that are divided into 15 different categories. So you’ll never know what  you’re going to get, and you’ll have to be able to think things through in a number of different ways. And with that many words, you can be sure that you’ll never get a word right just because it’s a repeat. There’s no way you’re going to remember 2700 different words every single time! But if all of that even starts getting too easy for you, just change the size of the board. Within the free version you’ll have four different sizes to choose from so when you need more of a challenge, just make the board bigger. Too much too soon? Change it back so that it’s a bit smaller and all those words are a bit more manageable.

Most users report that the app is a great free game, and that you don’t really have to get the full version, even if those ads do kind of irritate you. But most people don’t find the ads to be too much, and find that the difficulty and degree of the puzzles is completely worth it. If you love words and want to start testing your own brain power, start by downloading the WordSearch app for BlackBerry from BlackBerry App here.

BattleShips for BlackBerry

‘You sunk my battleship!’ How many of us have spent many rainy days and lazy afternoons shouting that exact phrase? Now you can play the beloved game of Battleship (of course because it can’t be exactly the same, this one is called BattleShips) and you can play with a friend or all on your own.

The game plays out just like the classic game of Battleship. You place your ships somewhere on the grid and the computer, or another player, will try to guess where they are by calling out squares on the grid. ‘C4!’ ‘Miss!’ Of course you’ll also get your turn too to try and sink the ships of either the computer or another player. You can find another player to play with online through the app.

One thing that is a bit improved with this game, compared to those folding boards that you used to hold on your lap, is that it has amazing graphics and really cool sounds. So you no longer need to make all those explosion and sinking sounds – the app will add to the fun in this way for you. The reviews in App World vary between ‘just OK’ and ‘extremely addicting’ but we think that any classic board game that comes all wrapped up in a nice app for your BlackBerry is always a very, very good thing!

Start reliving (and re-loving) all the fun of a classic board game by downloading BattleShips free for the BlackBerry from App World here.

Player for YouTube

When you want an easy way to browse, watch, and share YouTube videos on your BlackBerry, you need to download the Player for YouTube app. Not only can you do all of that but you can also do really cool things like bookmark your favorite videos for later, use the many different search functions such as browsing through the most popular, the top rated, featured videos, the newest videos, and the most viewed videos. And that’s just to find videos within the app! There’s so much more that you can do with the Player for YouTube too.

This app makes it easier to click on YouTube links that are embedded with BlackBerry apps and will take you to its direct interface without even having to open up the browser. And those videos you’re viewing? They’ll all be in the highest quality and once you’ve found one that you really love you’ll be able to share them of course, through any of the most popular social networks such as Facebook or Twitter.

Some logistical notes about the app include that you should be connected through WiFi to use Player for YouTube, otherwise you’ll need a WAP data connection. And although this app can run on all devices, you need system software 4.6 or higher for it to run on your phone.

One other truly great thing about this app is that it doesn’t include any ads. Hard to believe that’s possible in a free app but with this one it is. Download the app here and start viewing YouTube videos like you never have before.
